LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A family is safe Thursday morning after a fire started in their home overnight.
It happened around 4:20 a.m. at a home on Deer Crossing Way.
Officials with the Lexington Fire Department say a child woke up and smelled smoke. He alerted his family and they were all able to get out safely.
Crews quickly contained the fire to a spot on the second floor of the home.
They are working to determine a cause.
The home sustained minor damage.
