ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A woman has been indicted on four felonies after being accused of leaving two children in a hot car.

It happened in Richmond back in May.

Police say witnesses heard two young kids screaming and sweating in a car.

The temperature reportedly reached 137 degrees.

42-year-old Connie Arthur came out of a home and reportedly told officers she left the kids in the car because they were asleep and she didn’t want to wake them.

She’s charged with two counts of wanton endangerment and two counts of criminal abuse.
