LAUREL COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A former Laurel County sheriff’s deputy has been indicted on theft by unlawful taking, for allegedly stealing over $10,000 in compensation for time not accrued.
The money was owned by the sheriff’s department.
Brandon Broughton was indicted on Friday.
The only count on the indictment is Theft by Unlawful Taking of the value of $10,000 or more. The indictment says that the money was taken on or about January 2015 through May 2018.
