VILLA HILLS, Ky. (WLWT)– A lightning strike is believed to have sparked a massive house fire Friday, according to fire officials.

It was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the 900 block of North Oak Drive.

Officials tell WLWT the two-story home is a complete loss after a fast-spreading fire consumed the structure.

No injuries were reported, and fire officials said no one was home at the time.

Officials said the flames shot high into the air, and the fire could be seen from miles around.

Fire investigators said they believe the fire was sparked by a lightning strike during overnight storms. The fire remains under investigation.
