FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Heavy rains caused flooding at a local animal shelter.

The Franklin County Humane Society posted messages and videos to social media Saturday night saying the facility would be closed on Sunday due to flooding.

Several inches of water caused a mess inside the shelter.

Franklin County Emergency Management, the Franklin Sewer Department and even officials with the Franklin County Regional Jail all chipped in to help get water out of the shelter.
