Laurel County Sheriff’s Office Makes Drug Arrests

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people after they found a lot of drug paraphernalia inside of a home while serving a warrant.

Reportedly deputies were trying to serve a warrant on Gregory G. Griffey of McKinley Lane on Saturday night.

According to a release, when deputies went inside the home with permission they found drug paraphernalia including scales, syringes, glass bongs, empty plastic bags, methamphetamine, and marijuana. Deputies say a woman at the home said she did not know Griffey, which they later discovered was untrue.

Griffey was wanted on charges of failure to appear in court on charges of wanton endangerment – second degree; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; no registration receipt.

Deputies found Griffey in the woods behind the home. He was charged with fleeing or evading police on foot, possession of a controlled substanc –  methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

The woman in the home idenfitied as  Ellalynn Nicole Eversole, 32, of Manchester was also arrested for hindering apprehension, and several other drug charges.

Both were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
