WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) Woodford County Superintendent Scott Hawkins tells LEX 18 that officials took appropriate action after an alleged threat at Woodford County Middle School.

Hawkins said that the incident happened on August 10 and the district learned about it on Monday, August 13.  He said that as soon as they were made aware of the situation, they took action, including opening an internal investigation and notifying law enforcement.

The alleged threat came from a student at the middle school and was directed at the school itself and not directly at a specific person.

Superintendent Hawkins tells LEX 18 that he did not issue a One Alert because it was determined that by the time officials were made aware of the situation, no one was in any imminent danger.

LEX 18 will update this story as more information is learned.
