We never really completely shook unsettled weather over the weekend with isolated showers & storms hanging on Sunday afternoon. But the action fires back up Monday and Tuesday as we take a one-two punch from active fronts. Expect a balmy Monday with highs in the mid 80s and scattered showers & storms developing along a warm front, mainly this afternoon/evening. A cold front follows Tuesday with our most widespread shower & storm coverage. The severe storm threat is low (strong storms with gusty wind) but watch for torrential rain.

After that? A brief, yet satisfying break! Unusually cool and dry air takes over for a couple of days with highs in the 70s- closer to what Lexington typically sees in mid September.
