EMINENCE,Ky. (LEX 18) — An Eminence man has been charged with kidnapping three young girls and sexually assaulting one of them in Henry County.

Police say 51-year-old Roderick Dale Whitney faces felony charges in the case.

According to an arrest citation, Whitney kidnapped the girls — ages 10, 8 and 7 — on Aug. 25 in Henry County.

Whitney "told the juvenile females that he would take them to the pool if they cleaned his house in an attempt to lure them," the citation says.

When they refused, Whitney allegedly forced the girls into his vehicle, locked them inside and took them to his Eminence home.

Once there, the citation says, Whitney forced the girls to clean. It says he sexually assaulted the oldest girl.

He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a victim younger than 12, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, three counts of kidnapping of a minor, violation of registered sexual offender near a playground. The sexual abuse and kidnapping charges are felonies.

Whitney was being held in the Henry County Detention Center.
