CAMPBELL COUNTY, Ky. (WLWT)– Attorneys for Lexington native, Shayna Hubers present a motion Wednesday for a mistrial due to something a witness said on the stand.
The motion came after a witness made a reference to Hubers previous trial.
It’s reported that the judge denied the motion and the retrial continues.
Hubers is accused of killing her boyfriend, Ryan Poston, in Northern Kentucky back in 2012.
WLWT is reporting that three of Hubers former cellmates took the stand Tuesday.
One former cellmate says that Hubers admitted to killing Poston out of jealousy, not self defense, as the defense has argued.
The prosecution is expected to wrap up at some point this week with the defense taking over from there.
