LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– There was lots of commotion this weekend at the Embassy Suites on Lexington Circle after hotel workers reported finding drugs and chemicals that could be linked to a meth lab.
Police responded to the hotel off of Nicholasville Road around 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
The suspects apparently left the area before officers arrived.
After an initial investigation, they believe it was not an active meth lab, but it may have been in the planning stages.
Fire crews conducted an air quality test, and they did not have to make any evacuations.
Police say that hotel staff is trained to look for these types of dangerous situations.
“All of the hotels in this area have been trained by police and fire on how to look for situations where someone is doing something illegal in a room to help protect the hotel,” said Lt. Chris Van Brackel.
No one has been arrested and no suspects have been identified.
