FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky’s Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has been accused of overreaching her authority as the state’s elections chief.
Now the elections board is calling for a special meeting.
In a letter submitted Monday, the board’s executive director, Jared Dearing accuses Grimes of “weakening checks and balances in the state’s election system.”
Dearing also say grimes has misused her office in several ways.
Grimes’ office dismissed the complaint as “baseless.”
