Man Taken To The Hospital, Another Arrested After Shooting

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A man is in the hospital and another man is being charged with assault following a shooting in Mercer County over the weekend.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were called to the 400 block of Manns Road on Saturday night for a man who was shot.

Deputies found the victim, 33-year-old Joshua Dickerson, on the back porch of the home.

Dickerson was taken to UK Hospital with a gunshot wound to his back.

Upon further investigation, Richard Rowlette, 56, was arrested and charged with 1st degree assault and 1st degree wanton endangerment.

Reportedly both Dickerson and Rowlette lived at the home where the shooting happened. The nature of their relationship has not been disclosed.

Rowlette was lodged at the Boyle County Detention Center.
