LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A man wanted in connection with a shooting death in July in downtown Lexington has turned himself in to police.
Authorities say 32-year-old Jermaine D. Yates turned himself in on Monday.
Police say Yates is accused of fatally shooting 31-year-old Kerry D. Kenney on July 1.
Kenney was found dead inside a vehicle on Short Street. Police say they believe a the men were involved in a drug transaction before the shooting took place.
Yates is charged with murder in case and was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
