RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Authorities confirm the body of a Texas law enforcement officer has been recovered in Lake Cumberland.

The Russell County Coroner’s Office reports the body was found around 5:30p.m. on Sunday near the Wolf Creek Dam.

The coroner identified the deceased as 61-year-old Robin Edward Adair from Millsap, Texas.

WKYM reports Adair was a police officer for the last 25 years.

Adair and his wife were on a lake outing on Tuesday morning when he jumped from the back of a house boat and went under, according to WKYM.

Fish and Wildlife officials say advanced equipment including sonar technology and a robot were used to help find Adair’s body.

A number of agencies aided in the search including the Russell County Rescue Squad, Boone County Water Rescue, Barren County Fire & Rescue, Lexington Fire Department, KSP Bomb Squad Division, Cumberland County Rescue Squad, Pulaski County Rescue Squad, and Kenny Anderson (Independent Diver).

The coroner says foul play is not suspected and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
