Police Seek Public’s Help After Bicyclist Struck In Hit-Run Dies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police are seeking the public’s help after a bicyclist struck in a hit-and-run over the weekend died from his injuries.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office said 47-year-old John V. Oliver of Lexington died Sunday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Police say Oliver was critically injured when they found him about 2 a.m. Saturday lying in the street on North LImestone between Templeman and Constitution streets.

Lexington Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the case.

At this time, police do not have a description of the vehicle involved. Officers are asking for anyone who might have witnessed the collision or who knows of a vehicle with suspicious damage to contact the authorities.
