LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Saturday night people in Lexington are mourning the loss of a local business owner who was found shot to death inside his shop.

Those who knew 57-year-old Clarence Henley say he was a friend to many, and they don’t understand why someone would do this.

Police say on Friday an employee walked into Henley Welding and Ironworks on Delaware Avenue, and found Henley dead.

People in the area tell LEX 18 Henley owned the business there for years, and he would do anything for those who worked for him.

“The best guy you ever known in your life. Just a real nice guy,” said David Huffing, who owned a business nearby.

An autopsy was scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide; they say so far they have not identified any suspects.
