LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The weather outside has been frightful, but now the gas prices are delightful.
Several pumps in Lexington are charging just $1.99 per gallon, and AAA reports that the average price in Lexington is 28 cents lower than this time last year.
Prices vary though, with some charging up to $2.19. But the average price per gallon in Lexington is $2.11. This average is tied for the 5th lowest in the country right now, according to AAA.
Drivers say that the cheap gas really helps them save a few bucks just before the holidays.
“I have to drive to the doctor, which is like, two hours away once a month. So that’s at least $50 just going there. So that will save me a lot of money,” said driver Tim Walters.
