LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington Police say a man was tasered and arrested Saturday morning after punching an off-duty police officer in the face.

Christopher Steven Davis

39-year-old Christopher Steven Davis was charged after an incident that started at the Transit Center on Vine Street.

According to officials, a LexTran employee asked Davis to leave because he was causing a disturbance but Davis refused.

Police say an off-duty police officer who works at the Transit Center went to check out the problem, and that’s when Davis reportedly hit him. Davis then ran to the downtown library’s garage.

“Tasers were utilized to bring the subject under control,” police tell LEX 18.

Police say the officer received minor injures.

Davis was charged with third-degree assault, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.
