ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) — A Kentucky man has been charged in the death of a 4-month-old left in his care.
News outlets report that 24-year-old Jahi Cinque Hall was charged with murder after the boy was found unresponsive Thursday morning.
An arrest warrant says the child was left in Hall’s care while the infant’s mother left for work. An Elizabethtown police statement says the child was found unresponsive and emergency crews were called to the home. The boy died at a hospital. An autopsy revealed that the infant was likely smothered and had multiple fractures.
Law enforcement says Hall was the only person with the child between the time the mother left for work and when emergency responders were contacted. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
