Motorcycle Crash In Laurel County Leaves One Man Dead

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Laurel County Sheriff deputies are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened on Tuesday.

Deputies reportedly were called to Mt. Zion Road just after 8:00p.m. on Christmas Day.

Investigators believe the driver of a 2008 Honda motorcycle lost control, ran off the road and then slid back onto the roadway.

The Laurel County Sheriff says Tony Swanner, 56, of East Bernstadt was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 12-year-old who was a passenger on the motorcycle was treated for minor injuries.

Several agencies and individuals responded to the crash include the Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue squad, Crossroads Volunteer Fire department, off duty London P.D. Detective Stacy Anderkin, and Laurel County Emergency Management Director Justin Noe.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
