FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A string of trailer thefts in Franklin County has left several people out thousands of dollars.

One of those victims is a 12-year old boy who’s trying to save money for college through a lawn mowing business.

“I started mowing and working because there are some older people in our neighborhood who can’t really get out and mow,” said Aiden Jenkins.

Aiden’s business quickly grew, so he took out a $5,000 loan from his grandmother to buy a trailer.

He planned to pay her back and then start saving money for his future.

“I’ve always wanted to go to college to become some sort of doctor or surgeon and I’ve just always wanted to help other people,” said Aiden.

But those plans had to be put on hold when Aiden discovered his trailer had been stolen from his yard .

“I was shocked I was upset and angry some,” said Aiden.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies believe the crime may be connected to Matthew Suter. He hasn’t been charged with the thefts yet, but he is being held at Franklin County Jail.

Even though Aiden is upset, he hopes no one else has to go through the same disappointment he did.

“I would pray for them that they won’t do this again to anybody else,” said Aiden.

Now Aiden is continuing to pay his grandmother back for a trailer he no longer has, and he’s had to cancel his services at the houses he can no longer travel too.

“This year I’m just going to do the houses in my neighborhood,” said Aiden.

If you’ve purchased a trailer from Matthew Suter or know anything about this crime, contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
