Lexington Animal Control Investigating After Pit Bulls Abandoned, One Dead, Two Apparently Neglected

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control is investigating a case of animal abandonment and neglect after three pit bulls were dumped in Lexington.

According to a Facebook post on the department’s page, one of pit bull mixes was dead. It was wearing a tether, collar and covered with a blanket.

The two others appear to be underweight.

The surviving pit bulls were rushed to an animal control facility where they received vet care and are in stable condition.

Now investigators are trying to find the person or people who are responsible.

The dogs were reportedly found by a Good Samaritan along the railroad tracks on Kearney Ridge.
