LICK CREEK, Ky. (Appalachian News-Express) – A teenager from the Lick Creek community of Pike County was arrested after police say he attempted to poison his mother with bleach.
According to the Appalachian News-Express, police were called to a home on Lick Creek where a woman claimed her son, Justin Adkins, 18, had attempted to poison her by pouring bleach in her drink.
The citation states that Adkins admitted pouring a little bleach in her drink but wanted her to “get sick, but he did not want her to die from the consumption of the bleach.”
Adkins’ mother was able to smell the bleach in her drink before consuming it.
Adkins was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree assault.
