CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – The two parents convicted of reckless homicide in the death of their special needs son were sentenced Thursday afternoon.

Albert and Patsy Christy of Winchester were sentenced to five years behind bars following the death of their son Logan.

Logan had Down Syndrome and passed away from malnutrition and pneumonia in 2017. Albert Christy admitted that they had not taken Logan to a doctor in at least two years and that he did not receive appropriate nutrition.

Court documents stated that an autopsy revealed that Logan had nothing in his stomach at the time of his death.
