LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead outside of her home on Sunday.
It reportedly happened just after 11:30 a.m. at a home on Fisherman Island Road about 7 miles west of London. A neighbor was reportedly driving down the road when they noticed her on the ground.
The sheriff says 72-year-old Glynda Smith was found dead outside of her vehicle in the driveway.
Deputies believe the death was an accident and they say she may have fallen and hit her head. Deputies are also investigating if it could be weather-related.
Her body was sent for an autopsy.
As far as the weather goes, deputies say Smith’s driveway was slick and had patches of ice. They say her face had a cut and scratches on it as well.
