HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police were investigating after a deadly crash that appears to be related to winter weather.

The wreck happened just before 9 a.m. Thursday on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Hardin County.

Police say 64-year-old Debra Stephens of Leitchfield was driving eastbound when she hit an area covered in ice. Officials say she slid across the median and into the path of a semi truck driven by 62-year-old William Roberts of Winchester.

Stephens was pronounced dead at the scene. Roberts was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
