NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – An investigation is underway after Bardstown City Police learned about a possible school threat made on social media.

That’s according to a Facebook post on the Bardstown City Schools page.

The post made by the superintendent says that early Sunday morning police learned about an alleged threat made towards the schools through social media messages.

Reportedly Bardstown City Police and school administrators were able to identify the minor who made the threat.

Upon further investigation, they determined that the threat was not credible and the juvenile responsible for the post is not a BCS student and doesn’t live near Bardstown.

The superintendent says that person will face charges for making threatening posts.

Schools will operate on a regular schedule on Monday, although the superintendent says there will be an additional police presence.
