LEXINGTON, Ky- Kentucky linebacker and fan-favorite Kash Daniel has always had a passion for fishing, but little did he know it would lead to an opportunity with Kentucky’s bass fishing team.
“It was something that I always wanted to do and felt like I could do”, said Daniel. “I’ve just been really focused on football and putting my priorities in that. With this being my last spring semester it’s something I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do again.”
He of course needed the blessing from Coach Stoops, who responded with “absolutely, go do you” when asked by Daniel.
“I’m thankful that all the guys let me join with this being my one and only season, but i’m thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to fish.”
Obviously football will still come first for Kash and he said this is something he will do whenever he can.
However, even when he’s on the lake it will still somewhat translate skills wise from the football field.
“In competitive fishing it’s the same thing”, said Daniel. “It’s like knowing your opponent. You have to know what the fish is doing just like you have to know what your opponent will be doing.”
