3 Held After Apartment Robbed, Man Shot In Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Frankfort police charged three men with weapons and theft charges after a person was wounded in early Sunday morning shooting.

Authorities charged 19-year-old Gabriel T. Williams, 18-year-old Devon I. Sandusky and 19-year-old Dakeyione Jackson after an investigation.

Officials said police were called out before 2 a.m. Sunday to reports of gunshots being fired near the 800 block of Leawood Drive.

Police said the discovered an apartment’s door had been kicked in and found a victim who said he had been pistol-whipped and that assailants had burglarized the home.

Officials said the found shell casings in the area and that there were bullet holes in the door and a vehicle outside in the parking lot.

Police said investigation lead them to an apartment in the 900 block Deepwood Drive where, police say, they found four males, including one who had been shot in the arm.

Officials said the injured man was taken to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Dakeyione Jackson

Police said they obtained a search warrant for that apartment and recovered three guns, one of which they say was stolen from Lexington.

Williams, Sandusky and Jackson all were charged with second-degree burglary. Williams and Sandusky also were charged with receiving stolen property. Sandusky and Jackson also were charged with first-degree robbery.

All three men were being held in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
