LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)- Lexington police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday.

Police say around 3:35 p.m. some sort of altercation occurred between occupants of two different vehicles in the area of Georgetown  Street and Newtown Pike and Fourth Street.

The white vehicle started to flee and a dark-colored vehicle followed. Police say the dark car started shooting at the white car. They do not have any evidence to show if the white car shot back.

The cars separated and around 3:55 p.m., police learned about a gunshot victim at Good Sam Hospital who was transferred to UK Medical Center.

The victim is a 17-year-old girl. She was struck once by a bullet and has serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
