(LEX 18) – True Blue fans both in Jacksonville and Lexington held nothing back when cheering on the Wildcats as they took down Wofford in the NCAA tournament.
Kentucky fans were loud and proud inside of VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville where the Cats played their round of 32 game.
And fans who couldn’t get tickets filled the bar next to the arena, where all eyes were glued to the TVs.
When the buzzer sounded relieved Wildcat fans spilled out into the street in Jacksonville, celebrating a win that was a little too close for comfort.
Fans say they give Wofford credit; they were a little nervous throughout the game about whether the Cats would pull through.
Hundreds of miles away back in Lexington, tensions were also running high throughout the game as fans packed local restaurants and bars.
KSBar and Grill was a hot spot for fans who couldn’t make the trip to Jacksonville.
The bar erupted in cheers once the game ended and the Wildcats officially were moving on to the Sweet 16.

“I think the momentum we have coming out of this game were going to do well we are going to keep pushing through so fingers crossed for another championship while I’m here,” said fan Shelby Gilkerson.
The biggest question now on the minds of almost every fan, is will P.J. Washington play next week?
That question is still unanswered.
The Wildcats will play in Kansas City against the winner of the Houston vs. Ohio State game.
