LONDON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police were searching for the father of a 2-year-old boy who was found dead after an early morning fire Saturday in Laurel County.
Authorities said emergency workers found the body of 2-year-old Joseph Brock about 12:30 a.m. after extinguishing a fire at a home in the Marvin Gardens Mobile Home Park
Police said they are searching for the boy’s father — 26-year-old Vaughn Brock of London — who they said “was last seen leaving the area on foot shortly after the residence became engulfed in flames.”
The child’s body was being taken to Frankfort for an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office.
The cause of the child’s death and the fire both remain under investigation.
