Little League Field Dedicated To Louisville Detective Killed On The Job

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – A baseball field at a Louisville park was dedicated to fallen Louisville Police Detective Deidre Mengedoht on Saturday.

The South Oldham Little League honored the late detective at Peggy Baker Park by naming the baseball field there DeeDee Field.

Detective Mengedoht died in a fiery crash while responding to a traffic stop on Christmas Eve.

According to a Facebook post, Mengedoht’s son Preston threw out the first pitch at the dedication ceremony.

The Louisville Metro Police Foundation thanked the baseball players in a post on Facebook.
