LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Laurel County man has been arrested and another man airlifted to the hospital after deputies say a fight broke out on Easter morning.
Reportedly Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Vaughn Ridge Road about 5 miles west of London shortly before 11:00a.m. for a fight.
The sheriff says deputies found a 32-year-old man with life-threatening injuries to the head, face and back. That victim was flown to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment.
Investigators say a physical confrontation led to the man’s injuries, and Charles Ray Vanover was charged with first-degree assault as a result of the investigation.
Reportedly a knife was recovered. Vanover was taken tot he Laurel County Detention Center.
