LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that broke out Wednesday evening at an apartment complex on Lexington’s north side.

Firefighters responded to the blaze just before 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Hollow Creek Road off Russell Cave Road.

Crews say the apartment building was being renovated, so no one was living there.

Officials told LEX 18 that the building suffered significant fire and smoke damage.
