LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – All of us at LEX 18 would like to wish the mom’s everywhere a very happy Mother’s Day!

On Sunday some our staff spent the day at the station working on our newscasts instead of with their moms, but they’re still sharing memories and thinking of them on this Mother’s Day!

“Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom! She was always on the sideline for every soccer, basketball or volleyball game, cross country meet, tennis match, horseback riding lesson, orchestra concert… and let me tell you there were some painful orchestra concerts! Ha! You name it and she was there cheering me on, even driving to Kentucky now to watch me anchor the news 😀 Thanks for your support Mom and all that you do!”

“I know everyone says it, but my Mom is the best! She has so many ways of showing my sister and I how much she loved us. From the notes in our packed lunches, to the fabulous homemade birthday cakes, to the tutus she made for our dance recitals. She’s the first person I want to talk to when something good, or bad, happens. And she’s always there with a word of encouragement and a hug. Love you Mom today and everyday!”

Weekend sports anchor Charlie Walter and his mom Tina

“Thank you Mom for putting up with me and all raucous I caused growing up. When I was in college I really wanted a dog and she kept telling me ‘don’t get a dog, this isn’t a good idea, please don’t get dog, please don’t get a dog’ but I didn’t listen and I bought a puppy I named Callie. Years later guess who is now taking care of Callie…. My mom!!! Lesson learned: Moms are always right!”

Reporter Eleanor Buckley and her Mom Kit

“Thank you Mom for spending hours picking up tennis balls across the street from my house, so I could hit longer.”
