Former Carlisle City Clerk Charged With Theft, Abuse Of Public

NICHOLAS COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) -A former Carlisle city clerk is sitting in jail on charges of theft and abuse of public trust.

An indictment says that Ann Brierly stole more than $10,000 from the city of Carlisle over the course of five years between 2013 to 2018.

Brierly was removed from her position in 2018.

Brierly is being held in the Bourbon County Detention Center on a $13,500 cash bond. She was picked up on at a warrant at City National Bank in Carlisle.

She will be in court on June 3.
