LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – It was military appreciation night at the Lexington Legends game, so current service members, veterans and their families got in for free.
Several new recruits were also sworn into service on Saturday on the field in front of family and friends.
The night finished with fireworks as usual, but this time they were sensory-friendly fireworks in order to respect military members who may have developed post traumatic stress disorder.
“When our communities recognize service men and woman like this it inspires them to want to raise their left hand and swear to support and defend the united states so we can continue to enjoy our freedoms,” said Terrance Holmes, one of the military members who was honored.
