Rowan County Traffic Stop Leads To Big Drug Bust

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Kentucky State Police trooper conducting a traffic stop in Rowan County uncovered a much bigger crime.

KSP says on Thursday a trooper pulled over Daniel Bowling, 56, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky along I-64.

The trooper called in the Morehead Police Department’s K-9 unit, and the K-9 officer signaled that there were drugs inside the car.

Troopers seized 95 grams of suspected cocaine, a firearm and more than $7,000.

Investigators received further information about possible drug trafficking during the stop, which led them to execute a search warrant at a home in Rowan County.

Reportedly, 1180 grams of cocaine, 45 grams of heroin, marijuana, $660 and two vehicles were seized. The drugs have a combined street value of approximately $160,000.00.

As a result of the investigation, 5 people were arrested and one person was cited and released.

Dominic Adams, 36 years old, of Detroit Michigan, was arrested and charged with the following: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense greater than 2 grams of Heroin (one count), Engaging in an Organized Crime and Buy/Poss Drug Paraphernalia (one count).

Moses Wright, 49 years old, of Fort Wayne Indiana, was arrested and charged with the following: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense greater than 4 grams of Cocaine (one count), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense greater than 2 grams of Heroin (one count), Engaging in an Organized Crime (one count), and Buy/Poss Drug Paraphernalia (one count).

Andre Hall, 32 years old, of Detroit Michigan, was arrested and charged with the following: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense greater than 2 grams of Heroin (one count), Engaging in an Organized Crime (one count), and Buy/Poss Drug Paraphernalia (one count).

Lachan Moore, 27 years old, of Morehead KY, was arrested and charged with the following: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense greater than 2 grams of Heroin (one count), Engaging in an Organized Crime, and Buy/Poss Drug Paraphernalia (one count).

Thomas Wallace, 40 years old, of Morehead KY, was charged with the following charges: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense greater than 2 grams of Heroin (one count), Engaging in an Organized Crime (one count), and Buy/Poss Drug Paraphernalia (one count).

Daniel Bowling, 56 years old of Sandy Hook KY, was cited and released for careless driving (one count).

All were taken to the Rowan County Detention Center.

This case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead.
