RICHMOND, Ky. (WBON) – A Richmond man was arrested for child abandonment and abuse after police say he hurt his child and then never returned to daycare to pick the child up.
According to our news partners at WBON, daycare workers noticed bruising and knots on a child’s forehead and a visible handprint on the child’s stomach.
Police say they then contacted the child’s father, 33-year-old Joe Asher, and Asher stated that he was coming to pick the child up. Officers say he never returned. According to a citation, Asher also never attempted to contact police or the daycare.
Police arrested Archer and charged him with 4th degree assault (child abuse) and abandonment of minor.
