WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Thousands of people in the areas surrounding Lake Cumberland are still without power after severe storms moved through on Friday.

11,500 people were without electricity shortly after the storms hit.

As of Saturday evening, 818 were without power in Wayne County, 298 in Clinton County, 112 in McCreary County,655 in Pulaski County and 145 in Russell County.

A number of roads had to be shut down due to trees that were knocked over by strong winds. We’re told almost all of those roads have since reopened.

No word yet on when power will be restored to the remaining customers in the dark.
