LEE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – On Saturday hundreds of people came out in Lee County for the first annual Personal War On Drugs event.
The gathering was held for families and friends who have lost loved ones to drug addiction… And for those who have loved ones currently dealing with addiction.
The host of the event says it all started in a Facebook group just a month ago. She says something needs to be done to stop drugs from taking lives.
“We will not give up on our loved ones. We’re never going to or anyone else. Every person who has an addiction is somebody’s child, somebody’s mother, somebody’s brother, somebody’s husband and we love them and we’re never going to give up here in Lee County the fight’s on. the personal war on drugs, the fight is on,” said Lisa Moore.
Operation Unite was also there giving out vouchers for those who wanted to start rehab.
