GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A number of authorities are on scene of an all-day standoff in Garrard County with a person who is reportedly suicidal.
Kentucky State Police confirmed they’ve been at a home on US 52 near Paint Lick Elementary since Sunday morning.
LEX 18 viewers have contacted us saying that they have seen law enforcement officers in tactical gear along with state police, local officers and other first responders out at the home since 8:30 Sunday morning.
State police tell us they are still trying to negotiate with the man in order to keep him safe as of 7:00p.m.
We are told neighbors in the area have been notified of the situation and they do not believe there is a danger to the public.
UPDATE:
Kentucky State Police say the situation was resolved peacefully around 9:15p.m.
