LEBANON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A 29-year-old man was killed after his vehicle was struck by a semi-truck early Wednesday morning.
Richard Spalding of Loretto was operating a 2011 F-250 traveling south on Veterans Memorial Highway. For an unknown reason, Spalding crossed into the path of a 2000 International semi being operated by 62 year-old Jeffrey Canada of Milltown, Ind.
Spalding's vehicle struck the semi head on; Spalding was pronounced dead at the scene.
Canada was flown to University of Louisville Hospital with critical injuries.
The collision occurred at 1:41 a.m. and led to the roadway being closed for several hours.
