9 arrested after burglary investigation in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, nine people were arrested on Oct. 3 after a burglary investigation took place in Laurel County.

A Facebook post from the Laurel County Sheriff's Office said a burglary and theft happened at a residence off Cold Hill Road approximately five miles west of London, Kentucky.

According to the post, the suspects stole things like cabinets, curtains, furniture and personal items.

Video surveillance helped police locate the suspects.

Police said that around $20,000 worth of property was recovered at a residence in Knox County and has since been returned to the victim.

Police were also lead to a residence during the investigation that led to the discovery of meth pipes and a large amount of marijuana.

The following people were arrested after the investigation:

  • Dennis Michael Johnson, 35, of London, was charged with burglary in the second degree and theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
  • Ashley Nicole Jones, 36, of London, was charged with burglary in the second degree and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
  • Frederick E. Wilt, 48, of Corbin, was charged with facilitation to commit burglary in the second degree for allegedly providing a vehicle for other suspects to obtain the dining room set from the victim's residence.
  • Johnny L. Arthur, 46, of London, was charged with theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000. Police saw Arthur on video surveillance where a zero turn mower and other items were stolen.
  • Robbie Bert Baker, 41, of Williamsburg, was charged with burglary in the second degree and theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000. Baker was also charged on two Laurel District Court bench warrants. He also had other offenses.
  • Lori Ann Havelka, 39, of Gray, was charged with theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000. According to police, Havelka admitted to taking dishes and furniture from the residence.
  • Patrick Watkins, 53, of London, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in marijuana.
  • Teddy Dean Vaughn, 57, of London, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in marijuana.
  • Jessica Sizemore, 32, of London, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in marijuana.

All individuals were taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
