Another Republican files to challenge Mitch McConnell

(LEX 18) — Another person from the Republican party has filed to run against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

C. Wesley Morgan, 69, from Hyden, Kentucky, filed to run against McConnell on Tuesday.

Morgan graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in 1974 and was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. He represented District 81 from 2017 to Dec. 31, 2018.

Morgan was defeated in the primary for Kentucky House of Representatives on May 22, 2018.

There are now four Republicans running for office: Paul John Frangedakis, Louis Grider, McConnell and Morgan. There are also two Democrats running for office: Andrew J. Maynard and John R. Sharpensteen.
