LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Twenty people have died from COVID-19 in Lexington, and three of the deaths have been reported since Saturday.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department also says there are 54 new cases since Saturday. The city now has 1,129 confirmed cases. From Monday, June 8, through Sunday, June 14, Lexington reported 182 new cases and 6 new deaths.
Health officials recommend the same procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19: stay at least 6 feet apart from anyone not in your household, wear a cloth mask covering your face and nose, and wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department says cases are increasing among the city's Hispanic population. Of the 1,129 total cases, 266 (24%) identify as Hispanic, a group that makes up 7% of Lexington's population.
