2,135 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky on Monday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Monday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 2,135 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 2,135 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 160,232.

"This is our highest Monday by a significant amount," Gov. Beshear noted.

Monday's positivity rate was 8.97%.

Gov. Beshear also announced five new coronavirus-related deaths, including a 73-year-old woman from Fayette County, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 1,792.

As of Monday, 1,573 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 391 of which are in the ICU and 203 of which are on a ventilator. At least 26,611 Kentuckians have made a full recovery from COVID-19.
