2,500 new cases of COVID-19, 58 deaths reported in Kentucky on Thursday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Thursday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 2,500 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 2,500 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 372,012.

Thurdsay's positivity rate was 8.37%, the lowest positivity rate since Dec. 28.

Gov. Beshear also announced 58 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 3,921.

As of Thursday, 1,340 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 368 of which are in the ICU and 171 of which are on a ventilator. At least 44,394 Kentuckians have recovered from COVID-19.

New regional vaccine centers

Four new regional vaccine centers were also announced. They are listed below:

Kentucky Convention Center - Covington

Greenwood Mall Kroger - Bowling Green

The CFSB Center - Murray

TJ Health Pavilion - Glasgow
